Fiscal year 2008 brought more changes and improvement to the
Clean and Safe Program. We started the year off by rehabilitating
the lighting around the water feature at Children’s Park in the
Marina and lighting within the medians on Broadway in Core
Columbia, benefitting both pedestrians and drivers...
Clean & Safe Annual Report FY 2007
During fiscal year 2007 the Clean and Safe Program
remained busy as downtown continued to host conventions,
special events, and numerous construction projects. This
year downtown hosted 20,000 runners for the Rock & Roll
Marathon, approximately 25,000 revelers for the
Mardi Gras Festival, and countless conventioneers attending
events such as the Action Sports Retailers Convention and
Comic-Con. As in previous years, we have continued to
coordinate with the planners of these and other events to
minimize their effects on downtown property owners,
residents and businesses...
